This means hospitals that take steps to reduce workplace violence may receive higher payments under the incentive program.

The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing must convene a stakeholder group to:
Develop recommended metrics for measuring workplace violence in hospitals.

Create legislative recommendations to address the issue.
The stakeholder group must submit recommendations to the General Assembly by February 1, 2026.
Annual Hospital Assessments (Starting July 1, 2026)
The state department will assess hospitals annually to check if they have:
A formal policy to address workplace violence in place.
Submitted required reports to the Department of Public Health and Environment.
These requirements apply for each federal fiscal year moving forward.
Exemption for Small Hospitals
Hospitals with fewer than 100 beds are exempt from the reporting requirements.
